It was an unorthodox interpretation of the Curse of Cain, but it helped Viktor deal with his existence as one of the Kindred, and in a weird way it made sense. What's the point of being undying if you can't at least help guide the humanity from which you came. And the Ventrue certainly understood being demigods. Or at least their Roman ancestors did.

I cannot stop all cutting in the forests. But I can stop some, and I can make others so it does not cause you to lose hunting or for predators to be at risk.
